Interventions
Group 1: Patients with acute ischemic stroke without prior antithrombotic medication. Diagnosis of stroke must be clinically and radiologically (CR or MRI) confirmed up to 24h after symptom onset.

Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: - Clincal and/or radiological diagnosis of an acute ischemic or hemorrhagic stroke - Time from symptom onset or last seen well to hospital admission <24h - Prior antithrombotic medication (aspirin, clopidogrel, ticagrelor, prasugrel, dipyridamol) or lack thereof (control group)
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: - Prior oral anticoagulation (marcumar, dabigatran, apixaban, rivaroxaban, edoxaban) or heparin - Administration of intravenous thromboylsis prior to blood test - History of coagulation disorders (e.g. von Willebrand disease, Glanzmann`s thrombasthenia, Bernard-Soulier syndrome)
