Group 1: Children in this group were given midazolame orally to reduce anxiety.
Group 2: In this group parents were made to tell a story to their children to reduce anxiety in the operation theater

Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Child's surgery in UKS Child age: 5-12 years elective surgery general anesthetic Up to ASA 1-3 Language: German The child is able to follow and understand a premed story Target clinic: Homburg University Hospital, pediatric surgery, ENT surgery
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Problems of understanding on the part of the parents or the child cognitive limitations auditory problems emergency surgery
