Patients with cochlear implantation between January 2005 and December 2021 with measured pre- and postoperative speech understanding at 65 dB [SV65] using the Freiburg One-Silver Test.

Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: For the evaluation of the comparison of pre- and postoperative speech understanding, all patients* who received a cochlear implant in the period from January 2005 to December 2021 in the Department of Otolaryngology at the University Medical Center Freiburg and who meet the following criteria will be included: - age: = 18 years - a max. single-silver understanding > 0% without hearing aid - preoperative hearing test measurements with hearing aid available - at least 6 months CI experience - Rehab completed in Freiburg Cochlear implants from all manufacturers are included.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: - Age: < 18 years - Neurological or psychiatric concomitant disease relevant to speech understanding (e.g., cognitive impairment, epilepsy, cerebrovascular disease, brain tumor, depression, etc.).
