Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: - Separation and divorce issues - Minimum age 18 years - Participation of both separation parents - Sufficient knowledge of German - Declaration of consent from both persons of the separating couple - Android smartphone of both persons of the separating couple - Conflict escalation on the Glasl scale between 2 and 8

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Severe acute mental health problems (depression (BDI > 28), suicide attempt, schizophrenia, etc.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
The primary outcome is the change in communication patterns between the separation parents at the postmeasurement time point (t3). The time point t3 is at the end of the separation counseling (final interview, face-to-face). Time point t2 is after the third face-to-face counseling session. Time t1 is after the first face-to-face counseling. The communication patterns are collected with a self-report-based questionnaire (Partnership Communication Patterns (FPK)).

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Secondary outcomes are the subjective well-being of the separation parents and the children's behavior as perceived by the separation parents. Measures will be collected using self-report-based questionnaires (Well-Being (WHO) and Child Behavior Checklist (CBCL/6-18R)) at time points t1, t2, and t3.
