Interventions

Group 1: Probiotic fruit granules for 8 weeks Group 2: Fruit granules without probiotics for 8 weeks Group 3: No fruit granules (8 weeks natural history)

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: - weak to moderate gastrointestinal complaints that do not explicitly represent a manifest/chronic disease

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: • Known/diagnosed chronic or acute physical or mental illness • ongoing pharmacological therapy or psychotherapy • Acute antibiotic treatment or use of antibiotics in the month prior to the start of the study • regular intake of probiotics and probiotically fermented foods
