Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Mature bone growth medial, lateral or mid-shaft fractures according to the Allman classification combined with three or more unilateral segmental rib fractures and/or sternal fractures and/or pneumothorax/hemothorax

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Upper airway injury requiring long-term intubation and mechanical ventilation Acute cross-sectional symptoms Burns in the head and neck area or burns caused by inhalation Head injuries with SHT > 1, dementia or other cerebral injuries Cases with no informed consent from the patient or legal representative
