Group 1: Healthy blood donors, from whom up to 200 ml of whole blood is drawn following written informed consent. The blood will be used for monocyte isolation for all further experiments and analyses

MeasureTime frame
The objective of this study is to polarize peripheral blood-derived monocytes into the M4 phenotype for downstream analyses. Herein, in vitro calcific potential as well as quantitative and qualitative EV release by this phenotype compared to M-CSF-induced monocytes shall be investigated.
