Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: # Sensorimotor deficit (difficulty with one of the main senses such as touch or taste and difficulty with arm and leg movements) # Previous neurological disorders (e.g. a history of traumatic brain injury), neglect (disorder of attention in the form of neglecting a space), dementia (impaired memory, thinking and social skills) or cognitive impairment (difficulty remembering, learning new things, concentrating or making decisions), the extent of which interferes with participation in the study # Other basic physical illnesses that interfere with the examination due to their type and severity or have an influence on the parameters to be examined # Mental disorder or behavioral disorder that may interfere with the investigation or acute suicidality (self-destructive thoughts or behavior) # Drug, alcohol or painkiller abuse # Pregnancy: Pregnancy is ruled out in female subjects by means of self-disclosure. # Presence of electromagnetically influenced or metal-containing medical devices in or in constant connection with the body (e.g. pacemaker, drug pumps, cochlear implant, fixed braces, retainer, spiral for contraception) # Presence of metal parts in the body (e.g. screws after bone fracture, metal splinters, metal prostheses, non-MR compatible vessel clips) # a known seizure disorder (epilepsy) # Operations on the heart and/or brain # Tattoos

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Step1) The para-associated learning test - WHAT is the endpoint: Cognitive performance through reaction times and accuracy. - WHEN is this parameter checked: The para-associated learning test will be recorded before and after football heading. - HOW is this done (with which measurement method, questionnaire, etc.): The test will be performed on a computer and it will take around 10 minutes. Computer keyboard buttons will be used to record the reaction times and accuracy. Step2) Blood sample - WHAT is the endpoint: The concentration of neurofilament - light polypeptide (NF-L) biomarker. - WHEN is this parameter checked: The blood sample will be taken before and after football heading. - HOW is this done (with which measurement method, questionnaire, etc.): 15ml of blood sample will be collected to assess the concentration of neurofilament - light polypeptide (NF-L) biomarker. The blood sample will be collected into EDTA vacutainer sterile tubes, blood plasma will be separated by centrifugation and stored at -80 degree celcius until analysis. Step3) EEG based behavioural experiment - WHAT is the endpoint: EEG Signal, reaction times and accuracy. - WHEN is this parameter checked: The EEG based signals, and behavioural performance will be recorded before and after football heading. - HOW is this done (with which measurement method, questionnaire, etc.): EEG based behavioural experiment will be performed on a computer. EEG signal and behavioural measures will be simulatneously acquired. EEG signal will be acquired using 64-Channel EEG Cap and behavioural performance will be assessed by measuring reaction times and accuracy (using a computer based behavioural experiment). Computer keyboard buttons will be used to record the reaction times and accuracy. Step 4) MRT Imaging Acquisition - WHAT is the endpoint: Structural, functional and neurochemical data. - WHEN is this parameter checked: The ima

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
# Reaction times and accuracy from the learning test and EEG based behavioural test will be analyzed using SPSS software (IBM Chicago SPSS Inc). # EEG data will be analyzed using Brain Vision Analyzer software version 2.2.0 ( Brain Products GmbH, Gilching, Germany). # Blood Plasma NF-L concentrations will be measured using the Simoa platform (Quanterix, Lexington, MA), a magnetic bead-based digital ELISA that allows detection of proteins at subfemtomolar concentrations. # SPM 12 software will be used to analyze the functional data and FSL software package will be used to analyze structural data. # Neurochemical data such as GABA and Glutamate Signal will be analyzed using LCModel software. # Acceleration signal from football headings will be analyzed using MATLAB 2016 script.
