Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: need for periodontal treatment Entitlement to periodontal therapy according to the instutional guideline PA-treatment section §22a Resident:in a nursing home no antiobiotic therapy in the last 6 months no antibiotic therapy necessary for the performance of the PA treatment course

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: a life-threatening condition with imminent death of the resident, if the requirements of the health insurance company for participation in the PA treatment pathway according to §22a are not met (e.g. only anesthesia treatment possible)

Bleeding on Probing (BOP) as a marker of intraoral periodontal inflammation, assessed as bleeding during or immediately after the probing procedure in the course of periodontal pocket depth measurement at: Screening (Day - prior to baseline) Follow-up 2 (Day 97) Follow-up 3 (Day 187)

Plaque Index, assessed by visual clinical evaluation of plaque accumulation on tooth surfaces at: Baseline (Day 1) Follow-up 1 (Day 7) Follow-up 2 (Day 97) Follow-up 3 (Day 187) Probing Pocket Depth (PPD), assessed by measuring periodontal pocket depths using a periodontal probe (PA probe) in millimeters at: Screening Follow-up 2 (Day 97) Follow-up 3 (Day 187) Oral Microbiome, assessed by standardized microbiological sampling from four defined intraoral niches (supragingival biofilm, subgingival biofilm, dorsum of the tongue, deep pharyngeal swab) using swabs, paper points, and/or curettes at: Baseline (Day 1) Follow-up 1 (Day 7) Follow-up 2 (Day 97) Follow-up 3 (Day 187)
