Group 1: Intervention arm/ Intervention regions: implementation of peer support workers in crisis interventions as full team members joining the regular staff of social psychiatric counseling centers
individuals experiencing acute mental health crisis are offered company and support by PSWs during and after the crisis
police officers receive an anti-stigma training focusing on psychiatric crisis interventions.
Group 2: Control arm: routine care without use of PSWs
no additional training for police

Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: This is a full sample census during the regional KID working hours in all five service regions in the city of Bremen on weekdays from 8:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
