Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Students of medicine and dentistry at the RWTH Aachen University.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: No informed consent; Cancellation of participation; Prior participation in a surgical suturing course.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Difference in ?GRS (difference between pre- and post-test) between the three study arms (e-learning, HMD-based, tutor-led). If necessary, subgroup analysis (restriction to students who had a non-competent GRS<24 in the pre-test).

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Correlation of the Mental Rotation Test score with the ?GRS. Correlation of the number of sutures performed during training with the ?GRS. Difference in self-assessment of improvement between study arms.
