Design outcomes
Primary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| Adherence to the POC algorithm; Adherence to the algorithm The primary objective is to investigate whether adherence to POC algorithms resulted in minimization of transfusions and blood product administration. | — |
Secondary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| rate of intraoperatively transfused red blood cells (RBC), rate of re-thoracotomy, length of stay on the intensive care unit (ICU) and the 30-day mortality rate Secondary endpoints will be the impact of POC algorithms on the associated adverse effects of transfusion, particularly total and intensive care time, and 30-day mortality. | — |
