Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Adherence to the POC algorithm; Adherence to the algorithm The primary objective is to investigate whether adherence to POC algorithms resulted in minimization of transfusions and blood product administration.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
rate of intraoperatively transfused red blood cells (RBC), rate of re-thoracotomy, length of stay on the intensive care unit (ICU) and the 30-day mortality rate Secondary endpoints will be the impact of POC algorithms on the associated adverse effects of transfusion, particularly total and intensive care time, and 30-day mortality.
