Interventions

Group 1: The ProVIA intervention consists of a systematic exploration of causal factors of challenging behaviour with the app ProVIA-Kids, on the basis of which appropriate recommendations for action

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Child: aged 3;0 to 11;11 years, diagnosis of IDD (IQ<70) or/and ASS Caregiver: child's legeal custodian, speaks sufficient German for using the app

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Child: Severe somatic or neurological disorder, severe psychiatric comorbidity, severe deprivation, child not living with caregiver (e.g. in a residential institution) Caregiver: Severe psychiatric disorder

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Data will be collected at 3 measurement points: at baseline (T0), after 8 weeks of app use (T1) and 3 months after the end of the intervention (follow-up, T2). The primary endpoint is the absolute change in parental stress experience (EBI total scale) between baseline (T0) and after 8 weeks of app use (T1).

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Secondary endpoints are changes in severity of problem behaviours, caregiver mood, satisfaction with parenting role (EFB-K total scale) and experienced parenting competence (FKE- total scale) between baseline (T0) and after 8 weeks of app use (T1).
