Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: *Class II skeletal malocclusion due to retraction of the lower jaw. *ANB (4-8), O.J (4-7 mm), SNB less than (76) *Skeletal age end of stage S and beginning of stage MP3cap

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: *Intense vertical and horizontal growth models. *Previous orthodontic treatment. *systemic diseases; *Birth Defect. *Trauma or previous operations. *Poor oral health. *Allergy to any of the components of the gel used.

There were no statistically significant differences when comparing the period of functional treatment between the two study groups (p = 0.705). It was found no significant differences when comparing the angles, linear measurements and temporomandibular joint measurements between the two study groups (p > 0.05). While, there were significant differences when comparing all angles and linear measurements before and after treatment within each group except for angles (NSL ^ NL), (NSL ^ ML), (Ar-Go-Me), and (NL^ ML) in addition to the Bjork sum ratio Jarabak (p>0.05).

Mann-Whitney analysis was used to study the significance of the differences between the two study groups the three times. Friedman's analysis was used to study the significance of the differences between the three times within the same group, followed by the use of Wilcoxon's analysis to make binary comparisons between all the studied tenses. It was found that there is a significant difference when comparing the studied times within the gel application group when answering the question of feeling tension on the soft tissues (p=0.000), in addition to the presence of a significant difference in the patients’ answers to the question of feeling the presence of pain when comparing the studied times (p=0.000). A significant difference was also found when comparing the studied times within the control group when answering the question of sensation of tension on the soft tissues (p=0.000), in addition to a significant difference in the patients' answers to the question of sensation of pain when comparing the studied times (p=0.000). When comparing the patients' answers between the two groups in the three studied times, it was found that there was no statistically significant difference in the answer to the question of sensation of tension, as well as a significant difference between the two groups when answering the question of pain sensation (p<0.05).
