Interventions

Group 1: Severely injured patients (MAIS = 3 MAIS 2 with emergency room and intensive care unit stay) who survive acute treatment and consent to study participation
age 18-55 years. Case number 1500. Baseline survey at discharge and follow-up 6, 12, and 18 months after trauma. Patients are surveyed with PROMs (quality of life, ability to work) and PREMs specified

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Severely injured patients ((ISS = 9 or MAIS = 2 with emergency room and intensive care stay)) who survive acute treatment and consent to study participation, permanent residence in Germany or Austria

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Age 55, no patient consent, Glasgow Outcome Score <8, language level <B1, attempted suicide

MeasureTime frame
1. Identification and quantification of predictors for QoL and achievement of ability to work 2. Development of appropriate survey processes for PROM and PREM that leads to high acceptance and response rates among severely injured patients in convalescence. 3. Derive measures and recommendations to improve patient care and reduce barriers in the convalescence phase to optimize treatment outcomes and more rapid return to work
