Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: First consultation in one of the four participating pediatric gastroenterology outpatient clinics during the study period due to (functional) abdominal pain, age-appropriate German language and reading comprehension of the child / adolescent and parent(s) to answer the surveys, written consent of the child / adolescent and parent(s) to participate in the study

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Withdrawal of declared consent

Abdominal pain-specific knowledge (Abdominal- Pain Knowledge Questionnaire): children from 8 years and parents; 3 measurements: T1 (initial outpatient clinic visit), T2 (+ 1 month), T3 (+ 3 months). Pain coping (PPCI-R; T1-T3): children from 8 years, parents complete the survey for children between 5 and 7 years. Pain-related disability (School absence days and PPDI; T1-T3): children from 8 years, parents complete the survey for children between 5 and 7 years. Pain-related parent behavior (ISEV-E; T1-T3): parents. All measurements take place as electronic surveys; T1 on tablet PCs; for T2 and T3 an E-Mail link to an online survey is sent, which can be completed on different terminals.	—
