Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Age: 20-40 years German speaking (fluent) BMI < 30

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: - chronic medical condition - chronic intake of medication at study inclusion or in the past 6 months - pregnancy or breast feeding - oral contraceptives - drug use in the past 6 months - acute infection or orthopaedic injury - use of supplements - smoking - > 300 minutes endurance exercise per week (during the past 6 months) - > 3 sessions resistance exercise per week (during the past 6 months)

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
AHR activation in CD4+ T cells (collected from venous blood) immediately after exercise compared to control. The primary endpoint is the comparison between intervention and control pre versus immediately post intervention / control cessation. AHR activation will be measured using art-PCR and flow cytometry.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
AHR activation at all other measurement time points ((1h, 3h, 24h and 48h after cessation of intervention/control) measured in CD4+ cells from venous blood. AHR activation will be assessed using qrt-PCR and flow cytometry. - Tryptophan metabolite levels in blood serum and urine using HPLC MS/MS - Inflammation markers ((anti-)inflammatory cytokine profile) using ELISA
