Interventions

Group 1: Tumor resection (transoral/transmandibular/transcervical) with primary closure, one-time assessment of functional outcome using the above-mentioned tests/questionnaires during tumor follow-up

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients 18 years of age and older, patient consent available, primary treatment of oropharyngeal carcinoma with and without recontruction by vascularized flap.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Recurrent carcinoma of the oropharynx, patients with uncontrolled aspiration tendency.
