Interventions

Group 1: Interventional = self-help intervention "Tricks gegen Tics" for the treatment of BFRBs (contains special variant for tic and Tourette disorders), which is sent as a PDF file by e-mail. Group
which can be downloaded via Google Play Store or Apple App Store through a link/QR-code. Group 3: Interventional = self-help intervention "myMCT” (www.uke.de/mymct) for the treatment of obsessive thou
receives access to all self-help interventions after completion of the post-assessment.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: - consent to participate in study (informed consent) - internet access - sufficient command of the German language - willingness to participate in two anonymous online surveys, each of which lasts approx. 25-30 minutes - willingness to participate in a 6-week self-help program - willingness to use the program on one's own responsibility - willingness to provide an (anonymous) e-mail address

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: - acute suicidal tendencies - lifetime schizophrenia or bipolar disorder

Total score of the Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9): Self-rating questionnaire measuring depressive symptoms during the past week (at baseline- and post-assessment)

- Total score of the Generic Body-Focused Repetitive Behavior Scale (GBS-45): Self-rating questionnaire measuring self-injuring behaviors during the past two weeks (at baseline- and post-assessment) - Assessment of Tic Severity in Adults (ATQ): Self-rating questionnaire measuring motor and vocal tic severity during the past week (at baseline- and post-assessment; only for patients with tic disorder or Tourette syndrome) - Obsessive-Compulsive Inventory (OCI-18): Self-rating questionnaire assessing OCD symptom severity during the last month (at baseline- and post-assessment) - Quality of life (WHO-QOL-BREF): Global item of the self-assessment questionnaire; this measures the quality of life in the last two weeks (at baseline- and post-assessment) - Rhode Island Change Assessment Scale (URICA): Self-rating questionnaire assessing the stages of change (at pre-assessment) - Questionnaire for the subjective evaluation of the self-help measures (at post-assessment) - Questionnaire for measuring patient satisfaction (CSQ-8): Self-report questionnaire for measuring satisfaction with treatment (at post-assessment) - Positive and Negative Effects of Psychotherapy Scale (PANEPS-I): Self-report questionnaire to measure positive effects and unwanted events (e.g., possible side effects) during the intervention (at post-assessment)
