Group 1: current therapy remains unchanged Group 2: strength training bi-weekly for 12 weeks Group 3: TENS, EMS, heat via StimaWELL mat bi-weekly for 12 weeks Group 4: heat via StimaWELL mat bi-weekly

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: - back pain for at least 6 months - written consent for study inclusion is possible

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: • pregnancy or lactation • severe infection, cancer • cognitive deficites or language barrier n • pacemaker or difibrillator • electronic implants,e.g. medication pumps • severe cardiac arrhythmia • current uncontrolled epilepsy • skin irritation or open wound at the back

quality of life (German pain questionnaire, EQ-5D) functionality (FFB-mot) body composition (in % via body impedance analysis) muscle perfusion (oxygenation in %, rHb, flow velocity)
