Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Patients with chronically elevated long-term blood glucose levels, diabetes mellitus type 2 HbA1c = 8 %, periodontitis stage I-IV
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Patients requiring acute treatment (e.g. periodontal abscess) or undergoing active dental treatment (e.g. periodontal therapy), smokers, severe general diseases (tumor diseases, palliative therapies), cortisone therapy, antibiotic therapy up to 6 months before study participation, pregnancy, and breastfeeding.
