Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: In principle, all players who belong to the teams mentioned and who have taken part in or are taking part in the tests at the club are eligible to be included in the study. However, participation in the study is independent of team membership and test participation, and requires the explicit consent of the player’s legal guardian(s), following prior explanation of the study’s content. Participation in the study is voluntary. There are no disadvantages whatsoever if team members do not take part in the study or withdraw their consent at a later date. In particular, non-participation has no impact on medical treatment or care, or on regular training. - Injury-analysis: Documentation of all injuries that rendered participation in matches and team training impossible; inclusion of injuries from the squad for the 2015/2016 season (n = 29) and the 2016/2017 season (n = 28). - Analysis of existing pre- and in-season tests (jump tests, isokinetic measurements of thigh flexors and extensors) for the professional women’s football team before and after the implementation of an individualized injury-prevention programme: Inclusion of the (expanded) squad for the 2017/18, 2018/19, 2019/20, and 2020/21 seasons (approximately 25 players per season). - Analysis of existing pre- and in-season tests (jump tests, isokinetic measurements of thigh flexors and extensors) for the amateur women’s football team and the U17 women’s team before and after the implementation of a standardized injury-prevention programme: Inclusion of the (expanded) squad for the 2019/20 and 2020/21 seasons (˜ 25 players per season). - Analysis of planned pre- and in-season tests (jump tests, isokinetic measurements of thigh flexors and extensors) for the professional women’s football team, the amateur women’s football team, and the U17 team before and after the implementation of an injury-prevention programme based on the Stop-X protocol: Inclusion of the (expanded) squad for the 2022/23 and 2023/24 seasons (˜ 25 players per season). - Extension of the study population starting with the 2024/25 season to include the U15, U17, and U20 female age groups (maximum of roughly 19–23 players each) as well as the U12, U13, U14, and U15 male youth development squads (approximately 16–19 players per team).

- A survey of injuries across seasons, with a particular focus on the most common major injuries within a women’s football team in the 1. Bundesliga - Qualitative and quantitative recording of jump tests and isokinetic data before and after the implementation of a personalised injury prevention programme – or, from the 2022/2023 season onwards, a programme based on the Stop-X programme – for a women’s football team in the 1st German Football League, from the 2022/2023 season onwards using Noraxon Motion Lab with extramuscular, superficially applied EMG sensors. - Qualitative and quantitative recording of jump tests and isokinetic data before and after the implementation of a standardised injury prevention programme for an amateur women’s football team (Oberliga or Regionalliga Süd) or a female U17 team (Bundesliga Süd) - From 1 December 2024, recording of injury rates among female U15, U17 and U20 players, as well as male U12, U13, U14 and U15 players. The first screening will take place prior to the introduction of the injury prevention programme and the second screening after the programme has been implemented (after approx. 3 months) via quality assessment of the single-leg squat, evaluation of jump quality, height and distance of the front hop (landing on both feet and on one foot), balance side hop, 90° rotational hop, drop jump and evaluation of the respective landing quality. These tests are carried out independently of the study as part of the athletic diagnostics for the respective teams. - Analysis of the injury register maintained independently of the study by the participating teams for study purposes, before and after the introduction of an injury prevention programme
