Inclusion criteria: Cohort 1 (DM2) 1) Known diagnosis of type 2 diabetes mellitus 2) Written informed consent 3) Willing to fill out the questionnaires (IPAQ and SF36) 4) > 50 years old Cohort 2 ("Gesundenuntersuchung") 1) > 50 years old 2) Written informed consent 2) Willing to fill out the questionnaires (IPAQ and SF36)
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Cohort 1 (DM2) Any type of diabetes other than type 2 diabetes (e.g. type 1 diabetes, LADA, type 3c diabetes) Cohort 2 ("Gesundenuntersuchung") Known diagnosis of diabetes mellitus (any type)

| Primary outcome diabetes cohort The primary objective of the register is to characterize standard medical care and co-morbidities of people with type 2 diabetes in a primary care setting in Austria. Primary outcome measures: -Laboratory parameters: HDL-cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol, Triglycerides, Total cholesterol, HbA1c, Fasting plasma glucose, Creatinine, eGFR, Alanin-Aminotransferase (ALT), Aspartate-Aminotransferase (AST) -Medication :Glucose lowering medication, Lipid-lowering medication, Antihypertensive treatment, Antiplatelet therapy, Anticoagulants -Anthropometric and demographic data :Age, Sex, Weight, Height, Blood Pressure, Diabetes Duration, Smoking Behaviour -Comorbidities: Evaluation of circulatory abnormalities (peripheral vascular disease, stroke, coronary artery disease), arterial hypertension, heart failure, retinopathy, neuropathy, nephropathy (microproteinuria, macroproteinuria, nephrotic range proteinuria, renal failure), erectile dysfunction and diabetic foot ulcer/s Primary objective “Gesundenuntersuchungs” cohort Estimation of the prevalence of prediabetes and unknown type 2 diabetes in people undergoing a health check-up (“Gesundenuntersuchung”). Prevalence of prediabetes (according to the guidelines of the Austrian Diabetes Association): -Fasting plasma glucose: 100mg/dL – 125 mg/dL or 5.6- 6.9 mmol/L -HbA1c: 39-47 mmol/mol or 5.7 – 6.4 % Prevalence of diabetes type 2 (according to the guidelines of the Austrian Diabetes Association) -Fasting plasma glucose: 126 mg/dL or higher -HbA1c: 48 mmol/mol or 6.5% or higher | — |
