Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Average 24 h glucose (mg/dl) from continuous glucose monitoring

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Changes of glucose metabolism: glucose, insulin and glucagon concentrations Changes of lipid metabolism: chylomicrons, VLDL, HDL, TG concentrations Peripheral and hepatic insulin sensitivity Characterization of postprandial glucose metabolism using stable isotope 13C-glucose tracer Adipose tissue: adipocyte size and inflammatory status Mitochondrial function in skeletal muscle and adipose tissue Body composition Aerobic performance and muscle strength Energy turnover and substrate utilization Expression of clock genes and proteomics of skeletal muscle Metabolite analysis of plasma, muscle and adipose tissue
