Group 1: Treatment with Imagery Rescripting, 13-15 treatment sessions of 100 minutes Group 2: Waitlist-Control-Group, 6-month waiting period

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. primary diagnosis of PGD according to I-PGD-11 2. age at least 18 years 3. willingness and readiness for grief-focused treatment 4. MMSE>25 5. signed informed consent

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. life-time psychosis or bipolar disorder as assessed with the SCID 2. acute suicide risk or risk of harm of others 3. substance dependence as assessed with the SCID 4. start of new medication within one month prior to the study 5. ongoing or planned psychotherapy or a psychosomatic rehabilitation within the duration of the study
