Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: - women with pathogenic variants in the BRCA1 or BRCA2 genes - women with unilateral breast cancer and women without breast cancer - majority age - Informed consent for genetic testing and study participation - Sufficient language skills in German

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: - Women diagnosed with bilateral breast carcinoma - Women diagnosed with ovarian cancer

MeasureTime frame
To determine the influence of psychological and psychosocial factors, as well as coping styles and personality traits, on the decision to either undergo prophylactic mastectomy or participate in the offer of intensified screening for breast cancer after being notified of a genetic test result.
