Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Primary outcome will be the course of perceived stress assessed by the German version of the Perceived-Stress-Scale-10 (PSS-10). It will be assessed before the training (T1), directly after the training (T2), one week (T3), and five weeks (T4) after the training. In addition, two items will be used to assess the current stress level at T1-T4 and each day of training.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Secondary outcomes include: (1) Agreement with and helpfulness of stress-related (dys-)functional beliefs assessed with an adapted version of the Dysfunctional Attitude Scale. (2) Depressive symptoms assessed with the German version of the Center for Epidemiological Studies Depression Scale. (3) Emotional State assessed with an extended version of the Positive and Negative Affect Schedule. (4) Emotion regulation skills assessed with the Emotion Regulation Skills Questionnaire. These outcomes will be assessed at T1, T2, T3, and T4. Additional outcomes assessed at T1 and T2 are (5) Hormonal stress markers (i.e., salivary cortisol and alpha-amylase). (6) Physiological measures (i.e., heart activity and respiration). Moreover, we will assess some feasibility and usability outcomes at T2: (7) Feasibility of the intervention with self-developed items. (8) Usability of the app with the System Usability Scale.
