Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: - Pregnant women giving birth for the first time in the last trimester of pregnancy planning to give birth vaginally - Sufficient German language skills to participate in the questionnaire survey - Written informed consent to participate in the study
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: - Pregnant women planning to give birth by cesarean section for medical or personal reasons. - Women with a multiple pregnancy - Serious concomitant diseases of the mother (according to the assessment of the investigator) - Known serious medical conditions in the child that require the child to be transferred to the paediatric ward. - Diagnosed generalised anxiety disorder or other serious psychological alteration in the woman. - Lack of mental, physical or verbal capacity of the woman to participate in the questionnaire survey

| - Evaluation of the relationship between antenatal birth expectancy and postpartum birth experience (controlling for birth outcome variables) with a focus on antenatal stress and mother-infant bonding. - Evaluation of the birth experience, bonding and perceived stress level with standardised, multidimensional questionnaires immediately after birth and 6 weeks and 6 months later. - Relationship between mental health (anxiety, stress and depressive symptoms) and birth experience and mother-infant bonding. The study includes 4 measurement time points: Recruitment and baseline survey in the last trimester, about 24h, 6 weeks and 6 months postpartum. The following questionnaires are used: WDEQ, Birth Satisfaction CEQ, Stress using PSS-10, Depression Scale EPDS, IES, Pregnancy-Related Anxiety PRAQ-R2, Self-Efficacy using ASKU, Pre- and Postnatal Attachment MAAS & PBQ, BFI-10, Visual Analogue Scales. In addition, the midwife and doctor accompanying the birth are interviewed immediately after the birth using a short questionnaire. | — |
