Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Students enrolled in the clinical part of their studies at the University of Freiburg who regularly attend the ENT module. Age of majority Presentation of a written consent after detailed information about the presented study. (Information about the possibility of study participation and recruitment will be given during the introductory lecture for medical students in the ENT module. Participation is voluntary and willingness to participate can be withdrawn at any time without the need to give a reason).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Students not enrolled at the University of Freiburg. Students of the preclinical section. Students who have already completed a clinical elective in otorhinolaryngology. Students who have already successfully completed the ENT class. Students with already completed participation in the ENT module, with final examination still pending. Students without consent to participate in the study.

Primary

MeasureTime frame
The primary outcome is the observed part of the tympanum in %.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Time for a full otoscopic examination. Number of correct items of the OSATS checklist. Professional procedure of the ear investigation. Subjective gain of knowledge and competence. Satisfaction concerning the classes in order of an evaluation afterwards.
