Design outcomes
Primary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| To investigate usability of Join2Move, the following primary outcome measures will be used: - Usability/user satisfaction (System Usability Scale (SUS) (P. W. Jordan, Thomas, McClelland, & Weerdmeester, 1996), To examine the preliminary effectiveness of Join2Move, the following primary outcome measures will be used: - Hip Osteoarthritis Outcome Score (HOOS) questionnaires (Blasimann, Dauphinee, & Staal, 2014) and Knee Injury and Osteoarthritis Outcome Score" (KOOS) (Kessler, Lang, Puhl, & Stove, 2003). - Physical functioning (subscale "Function of Daily Living" of the HOOS or the KOOS. | — |
Secondary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| To examine the usability of Join2Move, the following secondary outcome measures will be used: - Program usage (quantitative data on app usage). - Thinking Aloud method (Charters, 2003; Nielsen, 1993, 2000). In the Thinking-Aloud method, participants receive specific tasks to perform in the app. While the participant is performing these tasks, their thoughts should be spoken aloud. This allows the examination of the usability of the app. The time until the completion of the tasks is stopped and the spoken thoughts are recorded (audio recordings). The Thinking Aloud method is not conducted with all participants. Five participants will be randomly selected. To examine the preliminary effectiveness of Join2Move, the following secondary outcome measures will be used: - Physical activity (International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ) (Lee, Macfarlane, Lam, & Stewart, 2011; Wendel-Vos, Schuit, Saris, & Kromhout, 2003). - Self-perceived effect (single question about the extent of change in OA-related symptoms. A score ranges from 1 (=much better) till 6 (=much worse)). - Pain and fatigue (Numeric rating scale (11-point Likert scale) and subscales of the HOOS and KOOS, respectively). - Self-management (Patient activation measure (PAM-13) (Zill et al., 2013). | — |
