Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Potential study participants are all patients who undergo a colon / rectum resection at the Agatharied GmbH hospital, who are> 18 years of age and who have a written declaration of consent.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Patients under <18 years of age, patients with inflammatory bowel disease, emergency patients, and patients who do not consent to the study. Since calprotectin is also increased in other chronic infections and autoimmune diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis, patients with chronic inflammation are also excluded.
