Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Age >=18 years - able to understand study purpose and risks in German language - for patients only: diagnosis of essential tremor made by a movement disorder specialist according to established criteria
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: - presence of other neurological or psychiatric conditions - drug or alcohol misuse (exceprion: cigarette smoking) - contraindications against MRI assessment (e.g. cardial pacemaker, joint replacements, tattoos etc.) - marked claustrophobia - contraindications against alcohol consumption - relevant medical conditions such as severe heart disease or metabolic disorders - pregnancy - breast feeding period - orthopedic disorders that would prevent participant from lying flat in the MRI scanner
