| The advantages of ForwardFocus can be objectively validated by using event-related potentials. The primary goal of this study is to objectively evaluate expected positive effects of the noise reduction algorithm "ForwardFocus" with respect to the processing of ecologically valid speech stimuli (syllables) in noise. Specifically, the following two main questions will be investigated: 1) Do cortical event-related potentials provide objective evidence for positive effects of noise reduction by "ForwardFocus" in auditory and audiovisual speech conditions? 2) Does "ForwardFocus" influence audiovisual interactions and cross-modal activation in the auditory cortex? | — |
