Group 1: Periprosthetic Joint Infection. Patients with periprosthetic joint infection of the knee. Routine clinical (mobility, pain, stability of the operated knee joint) and radiological examination

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Informed consent, >18years old, preoperative mobility > 200m, diagnosed periprosthetic joint infection / primary osteoarthritis

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Neurological or neuromuscular disorders causing muscular deficit or gait insecurity, rupture/partial rupture of the extensors of the knee, pronounced femoral and tibial bone defects requiring proximal tibial replacement or distal femoral replacement, HIV or hepatits C

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Compared with primary total knee arthroplasty, revision arthroplasty is associated with significant shortening of the patellar tendon

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
The shortening of the patellar tendon is associated with increased fibroblast activity and a shift in collagen expression in the patellar tendon
