Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Evaluation of risk factors, influencing the success of telescopic crowns The status of the telescopic crowns will be assessed by clinical (visual-tactile) and intraoral radiographic examination. The interval for the radiographic examination will be defined on an individual basis. Assessment of the telescopic crowns will be done in the same practice by the dentist who prepared the telescopic crowns when patients attended for routine care, recall or when a problem occurred. The observation period will start with the telescopic crowns being placed. When the telescopic crown and the removable partial dentures will still bein function at the last check-up visit and found to be clinically acceptable, the intervention is defined as success (no need of invasive reintervention). Whenever the telescopic crowns and/or the removable partial dentures will be replaced, repaired, recemented or scheduled for one of these treatments at the last check-up - for which an appointment was then made with the patient - the intervention will be considered as failed. Whenever the telescopic crown will receive an endodontic treatment during the observation period the intervention will not be considered as failed, but the observation period will then be censored.
