Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Age >= 70 years Planned elective surgical intervention Expected duration of anaesthesia >= 60 min Patient able to consent respectively legal representative

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Preoperative delirium Artificial nutrition Intracranial intervention Patients of Gastroenterology (e.g. ileus) Palliative patients Non sufficient language skills No valid consent of participation

Decreased of preoperative time of fasting gastric residual volume Incidence of acute kidney injury (KDIGO): State and amount of diuresis Intraoperative need of fluid and catecholamine Transfusion Peak lactate value, in case of need for intraoperative blood gas analysis Concentration of electrolyte and albumin (in case available) Postoperative survival, care needs, cognitive assessment after 3, 6 and 12 months
