Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: -Children aged 8- including 16 years and their parents. -The participant's BMI exceeds the 97th percentile and/or either a) obesity-associated risk factors or b) obesity-associated diseases are present -Sufficient German language skills of the children and parents -Sufficient motivation of the children and parents to actively participate in the training course. -Normal ability to attend school -The previous outpatient medical treatment according to the currently available guideline recommendation (e.g. AGA) was unsuccessful.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: -Psychological disorder or illness (e.g. eating disorder, bulimia). -lack of motivation on the part of the children or their parents -Inadequate group ability -Adiposity due to a medical condition (e.g., Prader-Willi syndrome) -lack of written consent

MeasureTime frame
At the end of the program (11 months after the start of the program), as at the beginning of the program, data will be measured and compared within the framework of the medical history and physical examination, the questionnaires (lifestyle, quality of life, self-esteem, nutrition), and the laboratory parameters and spiroergonometry (see sub theme intervention group).

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
The program includes three follow-up examinations, which take place two (T3), three (t4) and ten (T5) years after completion of the program. During the follow-up examinations, height, weight and circumferences are recorded. At T3, spiroergometry (including blood pressure measurement, resting ECG and bioimpedance measurement) and calipometry will also be performed. In addition, questionnaires on exercise and dietary behavior are given out.
