Group 1: -No AKI PenKid will be determined in patients without acute kidney injury (AKI) that are admitted to the department of nephrology or one of the aforementioned intensive care units with every
OR increase in serum-creatinine to 1.5 times baseline, which is known or presumed to have occurred within the prior 7 days
OR Urine volume 7d) PenKid will be determined in patients with progressive acute kidney injury (AKI) or acute kidney disease that are admitted to the department of nephrology or one of the aforementio

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients admitted to the surgical intensive care units of University Hospital Heidelberg (departments E0, E99, F99), gastroenterological intensive care units as well as patients admitted to general ward at Nierenzentrum Heidelberg. The study will begin on November 2nd 2021 and end on November 30th 2022. In this time, all patients on the above mentioned departments will be included. The study was prolonged until end of July 2023.

Exclusion criteria: Below 18 years of age, Incomplete documentation regarding patient information/history
