Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: - Diagnosis of shift worker syndrome with insomnia - Age 18-65 years - Working as a nurse/caregiver (at least 50%). - Working in shift work. Shift work is defined as alternating working hours that include working hours outside of 7am and 6pm and at least 10% of working hours consist of night shifts. - Informed written consent. - Access to the internet and an internet-enabled device during treatment - Very good knowledge of German language
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: - Suffering from any mental disorder according to DSM V - Currently in psychotherapeutic treatment or on a waiting list for psychotherapy - Increased risk of suicide - A serious or unstable organic disease that could affect sleep - Another sleep disorder according to ICSD-3 - Taking medications that affect sleep within two weeks prior to the study or during participation in the study. - CBT-I treatment in the past - Parallel participation in another health training programme to improve sleep, promote resilience or recovery behaviour, or to reduce stress.

Telephone-based screening (before baseline measurement t0): - To check eligibility of participants (see inclusion and exclusion criteria). - Ensure diagnosis of shift worker syndrome using the Shift Work Disorder Screening Questionnaire (Barger et al., 2012). - Using Mini-DIPS (Margraf & Cwik, 2017) to exclude mental illness. 2. questionnaires: - Sociodemographic data at t0. - Chronotype of the study participants at t0, measured by the Reduced Morningness-Eveningness Questionnaire (Adan & Almirall, 1990; Randler, 2013) 2.1. Other sleep-related questionnaires at t0, t1, t2: -sleepiness, measured by the Epworth Sleepiness Scale - ESS (Johns, 1991). - Attitudes about sleep,measured by the Dysfunctional Beliefs and Attitudes about Sleep Scale - DBAS-16 (Morin et al., 2007) - Strength of effort to get sleep, measured by Glasgow Sleep Effort Scale - GSES (Broomfield & Espie, 2005) - Tension before falling asleep, measured by Pre-Sleep Arousal Scale - PSAS (Nicassio et al., 1985) 2.2. Mental health at t0, t1,t2: - Depressiveness, measuredby Beck Depression Inventory - BDI-II (Beck et al., 1996). - Anxiety, measured by State-Trait Anxiety Inventory - STAI (Spielberger et al., 1999) - Stress, measured by Perceived Stress Scale-10 (Cohen, 1983), 2.3. Perceived workload at t0, t1, t2: - cognitive recovery from work, measured by the subscale "Cognitive Irritation" of the Irritation Scale (Mohr et al., 2005) - Recovery after work,measured by subscales "Switching off from work" and "Relaxation" of the Recovery Exierence Questionnaire (Sonnentag & Fritz, 2007) -Work Ability (Work Ability Single-Item-Question (Ahlstrom et al., 2010) 2.4. Feedback -self-generated questionnaire on satisfaction with the online training 3.
