Interventions

Group 1: The influence of the insertion depth of the cochlear implant electrdoe on the deviation of the actually achieved speech understanding from the predicted speech understanding is investigated.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: • Preoperative maximum monosyllabic score>0% or 4FPTA better or equal to 80dB HL • implanted with CI522/CI622 • preoperative hearing aid experience • imaging without pathologic findings • postlingual onset of hearing loss

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: • prelingual deafness • mother tongue not German • change of rehabilitation center • incomplete insertion or tip fold-over • severe mental retardation • no preoperative hearing aid experience

Correlation between insertion depth of the cochlear implant electrode and deviation of the actually achieved from the predicted monosyllibic speech recognition score at 65dB (Freiburger Sprachverständlichkeit nach DNI 45621).

Is the predicted value also achieved at other clinics than Erlangen (Hoppe et.al 2020)?
