Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1) cochlear implant for at least 10 months 2) native language German 3) rehabilitation or aftercare at our clinic (Dresden) 4) intact middle ear function for registration of the stapedius reflex

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1) lack of compliance with inclusion criteria. 2) Infection of the middle ear and/or outer ear at the time of the test visit.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Speech understanding (Monosyllibic score) with cochlear implant at 65dB (Freiburg Speech Intelligibility Test according to DIN 45621) with reflex-based and with psychoacoustic-based fitting of the cochlear implant system.

Stapedius reflex thresholds in free sound field of patients with psychoacoustically fitted cochlear implant system.
