Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 10 own teeth Periodontitis patients: stage II to IV, grade A to C; Controls: no attachment loss detectable, probing depths (exclusion of pseudo-pockets) = 3 mm, bleeding on probing < 10%.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Systemic antibiotic therapy and subgingival periodontal therapy in the last 6 months; pregnancy; general diseases with known association to periodontitis, (e.g. diabetes mellitus type I/II, coronary heart disease), medication leading to hyperplasia.
