Interventions

Group 1: Patients with obesity and diabetes with indication to perform a bariatric operation receive either a sleeve gastrectomy or gastric bypass and we take a sample of liver and fat tissue as well

18 Years to 80 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients with metabolic disease, mainly obesity and/or type two diabetes who have the indication for a bariatric operation. In the control group are patients with also the above mentioned criteria who are undergoing and operation of the gastrointestinal tract for benign reasons. Informed consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: no informed written consent, under the age of 18, malignant disease, chronic inflammatory bowel disease, immunosuppression
