Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Age at least 18 years or older Cardiac surgery with heart-lung-maschine Surgery in normothermia Signed consent form
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: No access to the sublingual mucosa, for example due to previous injuries or surgery in this area Emergency surgery Patients with endocarditis Pregnancy Re-operations Known preoperative renal insufficiency or Creatinine level >1.3 mg/dl Multimorbid patients Preoperative anemia Procedures with minimized heart-lung machine No informed consent or withdrawal of signed consent

| In the statistical evaluation, both groups will be compared with regard to the following parameters obtained by measuring the sublingual microcirculation: - Total vessel density - Perfused vessel density - Functional capillary density - Microvascular flow index - Erythrocyte velocity Sublingual microcirculation is measured before extracorporal circulation, after induction of cardiac arrest and after aortic cross clamping. The null hypothesis of the study is: Haemodilution during cardiac surgery with the aid of extracorporal circulation has no effect on the sublingual microcirculation. | — |
