Previous studies have shown that people with a thin gingival biotype have a higher risk of developing gingival recessions. This study examines the relationship between the gingival biotype and the tooth shape of the incisors of the upper jaw in order to identify risk groups for the formation of recessions only by analyzing the tooth shape.

Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Periodontally healthy
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: - diseases of the oral mucosa (e.g. lichen planus) - systemic diseases that influence the gingiva (e.g. diabetes mellitus) - infectious diseases (HIV, hepatitis) - taking medication that has an influence on the periodontium (e.g. calcium channel blockers, immunosuppressants) - pregnant and lactating women - smokers - gingival recessions on the maxillary incisors - abraded incisal edge of the maxillary incisors - conservative or prosthetic treatments of the maxillary incisors, which have contributed to changing the shape and length of the tooth - carious maxillary incisors
