Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients with cervical spine trauma undergoing CT examination on our CT-Scanner Discovery HD750 GE in the central trauma emergency unit of Campus City Centre. Dose relevant patient data and scaning parameter are documented in the institutional dose mointoring system.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Insufficient image data evaluation of the dose monitoring software because of incomplete data inculding technical failure.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Dosis reduction within a range from 0 to 50 % depending on acquistion optimizing. Optimal acquistion parameters can allow for a radiation exposure of cervical spine CT less than 1 msV.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Lowered shulter position, low body weight and low BMI values allow for a lower radiation exposure in cervical spine CT.
