Group 1: Study group: VR model
15 minutes studytime in a virtual model of a human middle ear. Group 2: Control group: conventional plastic models
15 minutes of study at five different plastic models to the topic of human middle ear anatomy.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Adult students (= 18 years); participation in the ENT-educational practical course at the University of Freiburg in the summer semester 2021; consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: No consent; cancellation of participation before randomization.

MeasureTime frame
Achieved score in formative examination with 10 multiple-choice-questions (questionnaire 2) directly after studying the given model.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Acceptance and value of VR among students (questionnaire 3) retrospectively after processing both models; development of self-assessment of knowledge competence (Questionnaire 1-3) before and after processing the models; development of the personal attitude towards VR use in teaching (questionnaire 1-3) before and after processing the models.
