Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: • NYHA stage III-IV heart failure • Chronic stage of heart failure for at least 3 months. If a change in medication is implemented, a stable phase of at least 3 months must precede inclusion in the study. Patients who are already stable can be included in the study immediately. • No cardiac insufficiency that can be causally addressed through coronary revascularization (coronary angioplasty or bypass surgery) or heart valve intervention (surgical or catheter-interventional)

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: • Intake of strongly sedating medication • Known chronic psychiatric or neurological disease • Known higher grade kidney (GFR <30 ml / min) or liver disease

MeasureTime frame
The primary hypothesis is that chronic heart failure is often associated with specific neuropsychological changes and corresponding MRI changes and that these specific changes can be determined in the MRI data that correlate particularly well with cognitive impairments.
