Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: - patients for elective surgery undergoing general anesthesia. - 2-10 years old children (at the date of the intervention)

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: - General anesthesia in the last six months - Communication disorders (insurmountable language barrier, complex mental retardation, severe visual impairment, severe hearing loss) - Contraindication for midazolam - Contraindication for EMLA patches

Comparing the difference of anxiety level using the mYPAS-SF scale at the timepoint after the intake of midazolam (defined as 'T2') and the timepoint of the induction of anaesthesia (defined as 'T3') in both treatment groups (video group and non video group)

Comparing the difference of anxiety level using the mYPAS-SF scale at the timepoint before the intake of midazolam (defined as 'T1') and at the timepoint of the induction of anaesthesia (defined as 'T3') in both treatment groups (video group and non video group). Comparing the children's compliance to the induction of anaesthesia using the ICC. Comparing the anxiety and pain levels before and after the surgery using a visual analog pain und anxiety scale.
