Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: subjective tinnitus (confirmed by an ear, nose, throat (ENT) specialist) with a duration of at least 3 months

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: - no acute or chronic psychiatric conditions (such as depression, anxiety or panic disorders) - no acute suicidality - if applicable: successfully completed hearing aid adjustment - no tinnitus-specific psychological tinnitus treatment within the last 2 years - sufficient reading and writing skills - sufficient German language skills

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Primary endpoints to be evaluated in the current study: tinnitus-related distress (instrument: Mini-TQ, Hiller & Goebel 2004). To evaluate a potential positive care effect the total score of standardised and validated instrument will be used.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Secondary endpoint to be evaluated in the current study: the subjectively perceived changes encountered in patient's everyday life, associated behaviour and attitude (instrument: Bochum Change Questionnaire-2000, "Bochumer Veränderungsbogen-2000", Willutzki et al. 2013). To evaluate a potential positive care effect the total score of standardised and validated instrument will be used.
